The Riverside Sheriff’s Office Jurupa Valley Station is proud to announce its partnership with the city of Jurupa Valley in securing the Organized Retail Theft Prevention (ORTP) Grant Program. The Board of State and Community Corrections (BSCC) has awarded the city of Jurupa Valley an impressive grant of $2,219,710 to address the growing concerns of organized motor vehicle and retail thefts within the city limits.
On Tuesday, January 16, 2024, at about 1:44 p.m., the School Resource Officer assigned to a high school located in the 100 block of E Nuevo Road in the city of Perris received information regarding a student who was potentially armed with a firearm.
In December 2023, members of the Coachella Valley Violent Crime Gang Task Force (GTF) received information about a prior convicted felon in possession of several firearms. GTF members conducted follow-up investigation and identified the subject as 41-year-old Leroy Melgoza from Desert Hot Springs.
On Tuesday, January 16, 2024, at 5:04 a.m., deputies from the Moreno Valley Sheriff’s Station responded to the intersection of Perris Boulevard and Bay Avenue in Moreno Valley reference a vehicle collision involving a pedestrian.
As the investigation into the homicide of Elba Estrada continued, Riverside County Sheriff’s Investigators learned that Marilyn Cardenas was the daughter of Estrada. Estrada was determined to be a resident of San Bernardino, California and Cardenas had recently relocated to the Coachella Valley.
