A California man admits to killing wife in 2019

John Gumina pleaded guilty to the killing of his wife, Heather Gumina, in a courtroom filled with her family and friends. The husband also pled guilty to two separate incidents of felony domestic violence against the woman. The press release details the consistent record of violence in their relationship.

California delays considering supervised sites for drug use

SACRAMENTO, Calif. (AP) — California lawmakers will wait until next year to continue considering a bill that would give opioid users a place to inject drugs in supervised settings, the bill's author said Tuesday.

On July 4, 2021, at about 10:05 p.m., deputies from the San Jacinto Sheriff Sub-Station were dispatched to a report of an unknown trouble in the 100 block of Boxelder Way, San Jacinto. Upon arrival, deputies heard sounds of distress inside the residence, and forced entry. Deputies entered and found a male victim with significant injuries. Emergency lifesaving measures were performed, but the victim succumbed to his injuries at the scene. Deputies also detained a female subject at the scene.

Illegal Fireworks/Possession of a loaded handgun

On July 3, 2021, at 11:13 pm, the Southern Coachella Valley Community Services District Team, were enforcing illegal firework enforcement on the 87000 block of Center St. of Thermal. Five large aerial fireworks, a loaded handgun and illegal narcotics were confiscated. Vincent Adrian Villegas, 27yrs of Thermal was arrested for possession of a loaded handgun and an active felony warrant.

Suspect Fatally Shot During Confrontation with Hemet Policeman

An investigation was underway Tuesday, June 29th into the fatal shooting of a man who allegedly attacked a Hemet police officer and tried to grab his firearm.
