Veterans Corner

Starting this year, all veterans, except those with a dishonorable discharge, will be able to access emergency mental health care free of charge at any veterans medical facility or other clinics, whether or not they are already enrolled in Department health care services.

California not alone in having polarized politics

Politically speaking, 1998 was a watershed year for California. The 20th century was drawing to a close – a century in which Republicans had largely dominated the state’s politics, including three iconic governors: Hiram Johnson, Earl Warren and Ronald Reagan.

Our Strength

“Drop by drop, a river is made.” I remember these words from a wise old man who was teaching me about strength in numbers. “Brick by brick, a building is made,” that was a corollary, implying the same meanings.

Total Chaos

Animals! Pure and simple. That is the only word that I can use to describe the students that I came across at a local, not so prestigious middle school here in Hemet. Any other words that I am thinking of using, cannot be printed in this space.

Never Too Late to Pray for America

Have you ever been so beset by anguish, fear, or grief that you unconsciously dropped to your knees, interlocked your fingers, and began to pray? Even for people who never embraced religious faith, that instinct seems cemented deep in their souls.
