Convicted Felon Arrested for Firearm Possession after Crashing Stolen Vehicle

Details:

On Monday, July 18, 2022, at 10:37 P.M., San Jacinto Deputies located a stolen vehicle entering a mobile home park in the 1600 block of San Jacinto Avenue, San Jacinto. The vehicle was stolen out of the city of Riverside during a residential burglary where multiple items of high-dollar jewelry and firearms were stolen. Deputies attempted to conduct a traffic enforcement stop on the vehicle, but the driver fled and attempted to evade the deputies. Moments later, the driver of the vehicle, Lance Carter, a 19-year-old resident of Los Angeles, lost control and collided with a traffic control signal in the 1400 block of Menlo Avenue, Hemet. Carter fled the vehicle on foot and was later apprehended by Deputies. 

A firearm and multiple high-dollar items from the burglary were located inside the vehicle. Carter, a convicted felon on probation for vehicle theft, was booked into the Larry D. Smith Correctional Facility for Felon in Possession of Firearm, Possession of Stolen Vehicle, Possession of Known Stolen Property, Resisting Arrest, Hit and Run, and other various charges.
