On Monday, May 15, 2023, deputies assigned to Perris Sheriff’s Station, conducted a traffic enforcement stop and determined the driver, identified as Juan Luis Castro, a 27-year-old resident of Perris, was on probation for weapon and narcotic violations.

A search of Castro’s vehicle resulted in the seizure of one pound of methamphetamine and a pound of marijuana. Deputies conducted an additional probation search at his residence which resulted in an additional pound of methamphetamine and ammunition.

Castro was booked at the Cois Byrd Detention Center for possession of a controlled substance for sales, transporting a controlled substance, possession of marijuana over 28.5 grams, violation of probation, and possession of ammunition by a prohibited person.
