Fatal Hit-and-Run Traffic Collision

Details:

On Wednesday, August 09, 2023, about 10:16 p.m., deputies from the Riverside County Sheriff’s Palm Desert Station, responded to the report of a vehicle versus pedestrian hit-and-run traffic collision at Country Club Drive and Barrington Drive, in the city of Palm Desert. Deputies arrived on scene and located the victim in the roadway of the eastbound lanes of Country Club Drive. The victim was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The Palm Desert Traffic Collision Reconstruction Team responded to the location and assumed the investigation.  There is no suspect in custody and it is unknown if alcohol and/or drugs were a factor in the collision. The investigation is ongoing.

The victim’s identity is being withheld pending next of kin notification.
