Gang Member Arrested with Fentanyl and a Firearm

On Wednesday, July 13, 2022, at 7:00 P.M. the Coachella Valley Violent Crime Gang Task Force served a search warrant at a residence located in the 66000 block of 4 Street in Desert Hot Springs. The search warrant was the culmination of an investigation that resulted in the arrest of convicted felon and documented criminal street gang member, Christopher Arana, a 29-year-old resident of Indio, for Felon in Possession of a Firearm, Felon in Possession of Ammunition, Possession of a Firearm with Narcotics, Possession of Fentanyl, Gang Member with a Firearm, and Failure to Appear in Court while on Bail. During the investigation Gang Task Force Officers located suspected fentanyl pills, cash, ammunition, and a loaded 9mm semi-auto handgun all of which were determined to be in Arana’s possession. Arana was also found to have three active Felony Arrest Warrants for Narcotics and Weapons Violations and for Violation of PRCS (Supervised Release). Arana was subsequently booked at John Benoit Detention Center in Indio.
