HEMET — Hemet City Council is scheduled to consider the second reading of Ordinance 2081, updating Stephens’ kangaroo rat mitigation fees, at its regular meeting Tuesday, Sept. 22, 2026, at 6 p.m. at City Hall, 450 E. Latham Ave.
The council introduced the ordinance on Sept. 8, 2026, after a public hearing, on a 4-1 vote, with Councilmember Males voting no, according to the city’s meeting record previously covered by the Chronicle.
Fees as introduced: $250 per single-family residential unit; $500 per acre for agricultural uses; and $900 per acre for all other uses, according to city materials for the Stephens’ Kangaroo Rat 2026 Fee Update.
Adoption is not reported here; the second reading had not occurred when this advance was prepared.
