Juvenile Student arrested with a Firearm on School Grounds

Details:

On Tuesday, January 16, 2024, at about 1:44 p.m., the School Resource Officer assigned to a high school located in the 100 block of E Nuevo Road in the city of Perris received information regarding a student who was potentially armed with a firearm. No direct or explicit threats were made towards staff or students. Utilizing this information, Deputies located the juvenile and detained him. A search of the juvenile revealed a concealed and loaded firearm. The juvenile was taken into custody without incident and later booked into juvenile hall. This investigation is ongoing.
