On Wednesday, March 31, 2021, personnel from the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department served a narcotic related search warrant in the 300 block of Canary Court, in the City of San Jacinto. During the service of the search warrant it was discovered the residence had been converted into an illegal marijuana cultivation operation. The electrical meter had been bypassed, so the residents were able to steal electricity from Southern California Edison to run their illegal operation. Per Southern California Edison, preliminary estimate puts the theft of electricity to be over $80,000. Seven rooms inside the residence had been converted into rooms to specifically grow marijuana. 727 marijuana plants were seized and submitted for destruction. Huanlong He, 32 year old resident of San Gabriel, and Qiuju Chen, 36 year old resident of Oakland, were located during the service of the search warrant and arrested for marijuana cultivation and theft of electricity:
Both He and Chen were booked into the Larry Smith Correctional Facility.
