Marijuana Indoor Cultivation Warrants – October 26, 2020

Members of the Jurupa Valley Station’s Special Enforcement Teams (SET) representing the cities of Jurupa Valley and Eastvale have been aggressively targeting illegal indoor marijuana grows throughout the cities of Eastvale and Jurupa Valley in 2020.

Deputies assigned to the SET team received complaints from residents of the city of Jurupa Valley regarding possible illegal indoor marijuana cultivations. The Jurupa Valley SET deputies investigated and determined that properties located in the 11140 block of Dane Drive., 11500 block of Pansy Place., 11690 and 11620 block of Daisy Court in the city of Jurupa Valley, had been converted to support illegal indoor marijuana cultivation and there was evidence that marijuana plants were being cultivated on the properties.

On October 26, 2020, at 8:00 AM members from the Jurupa Valley station’s SET team served four marijuana cultivation related search warrants on the properties located at the above addresses within the city of Jurupa Valley.  During the service of the search warrants, deputies recovered approximately 3,725 marijuana plants and several pounds of processed marijuana from the locations.

The following subjects were arrested for illegal marijuana cultivation, possession of marijuana for sales and electricity theft. Subsequently, they were booked at the Robert Presley Detention Center:  

1. Cheng, Yijing, 25-year old resident of the city of Jurupa Valley.

2. Lai, Zhiyong, 26-year old resident of the city of Jurupa Valley.

3. Duan, Minhua, 55-year old resident of the city of Monterey Park.

Jurupa Valley Code Enforcement and Southern California Edison responded to the location’s and they conducted their own separate investigations into various building and safety code violations.
