Motorcyclist Killed in Traffic Collision

On Wednesday, June 8 at approximately 7:00 pm, the Hemet Public Safety Communications Center began receiving calls regarding a traffic collision near the intersection of Sanderson Avenue and Devonshire Avenue. When officers arrived on scene, they located a traffic collision between a motorcycle and a Ford sedan. The motorcycle rider suffered significant injuries and was transported to a local hospital. Unfortunately, he did not survive.

Hemet Police collision investigators responded and learned the driver of a 2012 Ford Tuarus was traveling south on Sanderson Avenue attempting to turn left into the driveway of a nearby car- wash. The rider of the Suzuki motorcycle was traveling north on Sanderson Avenue when the car turned left, and the vehicles collided. There was no indication of impaired driving, and no arrests were made. The name of the motorcyclist is being withheld pending notification of his family.

Sanderson Avenue was closed to traffic between Devonshire Avenue and Menlo Avenue for several hours while the investigation was conducted.
