Narcotics and Firearm Located During Gang Related Search Warrant

On Friday, May 29th, 2020, at 7:00 A.M. the Coachella Valley Violent Crime Gang Task Force with the assistance of Riverside County Sheriff SWAT served a search warrant at a residence in the 91000 block of 4th Street in the unincorporated community of Mecca.  During the service of the search warrant Gang Task Force Officers located approximately 4.5 ounces of suspected methamphetamine and evidence of narcotics sales.  Additionally, a loaded 9mm semi-auto handgun was located.  Convicted felon and documented criminal street gang member, Manuel Rodriguez, 24 of Mecca was arrested for being a Convicted Felon in Possession of a Firearm, Convicted Felon in Possession of Ammunition and Gang Member in Possession of a Firearm.  Frank Gomez, 18 of Mecca was arrested for Possession of Methamphetamine for Sales.  Both subjects were booked at the Indio Jail.
