MORENO VALLEY, CA — A man was arrested on suspicion of taking photos beneath a woman’s skirt as she was shopping at a business in Riverside County, authorities said.

Deputies were called to the 12000 block of Day Street in Moreno Valley, where reports were made of the man taking photographs, the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department said Thursday.

Other patrons at the business reportedly confronted the man and he immediately started walking toward the exit of the business. Deputies arrived in time to talk to the suspect but he was released from the scene, police said.

Upon conducting a follow-up investigation, the Moreno Valley Station found the victim and served him a search warrant on Wednesday, Oct. 30 of his home on the 25600 block of Calamity Lane in the unincorporated community of Homeland. Electronic devices were collected during the sweep, deputies said.

Jose Antonio Gutierrez, 59, of Homeland was arrested and booked into the Robert Presley Detention Center on charges related to invasion of privacy, police said.

The investigation is ongoing and deputies urge anyone to come forward if they believe they are a victim of the suspect. Anyone with information is encouraged to call 951-486-6867.
