Single Vehicle Fatal Traffic Collision

On May 1, 2021, at 11:01 PM, deputies responded to the area of Kitching Street and Sunnymead Boulevard, Moreno Valley, regarding a single-vehicle traffic collision. Within minutes, deputies arrived and discovered the collision involved a Toyota Corolla versus a wall. The single occupant adult male driver was pronounced deceased by on-scene medic personnel.

The Moreno Valley Traffic Reconstruction Team assumed the investigation. Preliminary investigation indicates the driver was northbound on Kitching Street and driving in a reckless manner. The driver struck the wall at Sunnymead Boulevard and Kitching Street.  The roadway was closed for approximately four hours for the scene investigation. Deputies are still investigating if alcohol and/or drugs were a factor in this collision.
