Attempted Murder, Kidnapping, Domestic Assault, and False Imprisonment

On September 8, 2022, at 7:46 PM, Thermal Station patrol deputies were flagged down in the 91000 block of 5th Street in Mecca, reference a 42-year-old female who was kidnapped, beaten, strangled with a belt, and held against her will for over eight hours.

Attempted Murder

On Monday, November 1, 2021, Perris Sheriff’s Station deputies responded to a shooting that occurred in the parking lot of a business located in the 4000 block of N. Perris Blvd, in the city of Perris. Deputies arrived on-scene and located two victims suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.

Carjacking / Attempted Murder

Beginning in the month of November, the Moreno Valley Station Robbery Burglary Suppression Team (RBST) began investigating a series of carjacking’s and two attempted murder incidents that were believed to be committed by the same group of suspects. In most of the carjacking incidents, the suspects would travel between the cities of Moreno Valley and Perris and locate a victim.

Attempt Murder

On Thursday, December 17, 2020, at approximately 5:22 P.M, personnel from the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department, San Jacinto Sheriff Station, responded to a shooting that just occurred near the intersection of Hewitt Street and Esplanade Avenue, in the City of San Jacinto.

Attempted Murder – September 15, 2020

On Tuesday September 15, 2020, at 1:11 pm, Riverside County Sheriff’s deputies responded to the 12000 block of Matthews Rd. on the Morongo Reservation to a report of a non-tribal member firing a handgun and threatening residents at that location. Deputies arrived and spoke with a male victim who advised the suspect, Michael Leyvas, 33, of Banning had threatened to kill him and was possibly in the garage of his residence.
