A Lake Elsinore man died Thursday night on state Route 74 after an SUV pulled in front him, triggering a crash, according to a preliminary report from the California Highway Patrol.
On January 19, 2024, at 8:30 a.m., deputies from the Riverside Sheriff’s Colorado River Station responded to the 10000 block of Vernon Street in the unincorporated area of Blythe regarding an assault with a deadly weapon. When deputies arrived, they detained the suspect, a 14-year-old-juvenile.
During the course of this investigation, a suspect was identified as Justin Vanderford, 41 years of Jurupa Valley. On January 4, 2024, Vanderford was detained by deputies from the Jurupa Valley Special Enforcement Team, near the intersection of Lakeview Street and Pedley Road Vanderford was arrested for murder, and booked at the Robert Presley Detention Center.
