Western Center Academy student named National Merit semifinalist

Date:

HEMET — Anum Firoz of Western Center Academy is named among the 2027 National Merit Scholarship Program semifinalists announced Sept. 9, 2026.

The National Merit Scholarship Corporation released the 2027 semifinalist class that day. Inland Empire media lists drawn from that announcement include Firoz under Hemet’s Western Center Academy. Semifinalists are selected based on performance on the Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test and represent fewer than 1 percent of U.S. high school seniors, according to the program’s public materials.
