Skilled nursing facility reopens to patients after April evacuation

A Riverside skilled nursing facility where more than 80 patients were evacuated in April reopened today. The California Department of Public Health reviewed the facility and approved its reopening.

Assault on a Peace Officer

On July 19, 2020, deputies responded to the 31000 block of Casino Dr., in Lake Elsinore, in response to a report of protesting regarding information on recently released sex offender Cary Smith. Upon arrival, the protest was relatively peaceful. During one unrestful incident, a protester threw an object at deputies, causing minor injury to a deputy.

Sex Offender Released from State Mental Hospital

Mr. Smith has left the City of Lake Elsinore. He is still being monitored by Riverside County Sheriff’s Department; however, his final destination has not been released at this time. We will continue to provide updates as they become available.

Illegal Marijuana Cultivation – July 18, 2020

On Saturday, July 18, 2020, at approximately 9:10 A.M., deputies from the San Jacinto Sheriff’s Station responded to assist Cal-fire and Southern California Edison with a power grid fire in the area of Enchanted Trails and Old Bridge in the city of San Jacinto.
