MSJC Offering Moderna COVID-19 Vaccine for Tiers 1a and 1b

Mt. San Jacinto College (MSJC) is offering the Moderna COVID-19 vaccine to those who qualify under Tiers 1a and 1b. The vaccines will be given on a first-come, first-served basis via online registration only. Only those who qualify under Tiers 1a and 1b may register, which includes those 65 and older; those working in specific health care fields; law enforcement; education and childcare workers. Please review the Riverside County Public Health website for information about the tiers. You must bring proof of eligibility to the appointment (an ID badge; letter of employment; and, for those 65 and older, a driver's license, passport, or birth certificate). Embezzlement

In August of 2020, The Riverside County District Attorney’s Office forwarded a criminal complaint to the Lake Elsinore Sheriff’s Station Investigations Bureau regarding an Embezzlement incident that occurred in the city of Canyon Lake. During this complex and lengthy investigation, Investigators revealed that 78-year-old Robert Templeton from Canyon Lake who was the Treasurer for a local Non-Profit Travel Club, diverted club funds into his personal bank account from January of 2017 through December of 2019. Investigators found fifty-six transactions during this period for non-business purposes, totaling over $24,000.00. On today’s date, Templeton was interviewed and arrested for Embezzlement, Grand Theft and Theft by False Pretenses. Robert Templeton was booked into a Riverside County jail without further incident.

Search Warrant / Weapons and Narcotic Arrest

On March 3, 2021, at 5:00 A.M., deputies assigned to the Coachella Community Action Team (CCAT), with the assistance of the Southern Coachella Valley Community Service District Team (SCVCSDT), the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT), the Coachella Valley Narcotic Task Force (CVNTF), the Thermal Station Investigation Bureau, and the Riverside County Special Investigation Bureau (SIB) served a search warrant at a residence in the 88-400 block of Avenue 57 in the unincorporated community of Thermal. During the search warrant service, three firearms and narcotics were seized. Jimmy Hernandez, 34 of Thermal, was arrested for possession of a California prohibited firearm. Ramon Hernandez, 27 of Thermal, was arrested for possession of a control substance. Both subjects were booked at the John Benoit Detention Center in the city of Indio.
