Containment of California wildfires grows but wind a concern

REDDING, Calif. (AP) — Containment of three big wildfires in Northern California has increased but potential for a new round of winds this week was a concern, authorities said Monday.

Fireworks cause Southern California air quality problems

LOS ANGELES (AP) — Air quality advisories were in effect Monday across a swath of Southern California due to hours of fireworks blasts and a wildfire north of Los Angeles.

On July 4, 2021, at about 10:05 p.m., deputies from the San Jacinto Sheriff Sub-Station were dispatched to a report of an unknown trouble in the 100 block of Boxelder Way, San Jacinto. Upon arrival, deputies heard sounds of distress inside the residence, and forced entry. Deputies entered and found a male victim with significant injuries. Emergency lifesaving measures were performed, but the victim succumbed to his injuries at the scene. Deputies also detained a female subject at the scene.

Illegal Fireworks/Possession of a loaded handgun

On July 3, 2021, at 11:13 pm, the Southern Coachella Valley Community Services District Team, were enforcing illegal firework enforcement on the 87000 block of Center St. of Thermal. Five large aerial fireworks, a loaded handgun and illegal narcotics were confiscated. Vincent Adrian Villegas, 27yrs of Thermal was arrested for possession of a loaded handgun and an active felony warrant.
