Investigators from the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department Central Homicide Unit have continued investigating a homicide that occurred on January 26, 2020, in the unincorporated area of Home Gardens. The ongoing investigation revealed a second suspect involved in the murder of 25-year-old Antonio Anaya.
The second suspect has been identified as a 16-year-old male juvenile. With assistance from the Corona Police Department and the Riverside County Gang Task Force, the juvenile suspect was located and arrested. He has been booked into custody at Riverside County Juvenile Hall and charged with murder by the Riverside County District Attorney’s Office.

The Riverside County Sheriff’s Department, Central Homicide Unit has been working toward developing leads on a homicide that occurred on January 26, 2020, in the unincorporated area of Home Gardens. The investigation revealed the suspect as 31-year-old Eric Chaparro of Corona. Investigator’s presented the case to the Riverside County District Attorney’s Office, and charges of murder were filed against Chaparro, who has been arrested and booked into custody.

Details:
On Sunday, January 26, 2020, at 7:57 PM, deputies from the Jurupa Valley Station responded to a call of an assault with a deadly weapon in the 3700 Block of Windsong Street, in the unincorporated Riverside County area of Home Gardens.

Deputies arrived at the scene and found a male suffering from life-threatening wounds. Deputies rendered medical aid until emergency medical personnel arrived. The male was transported to a local hospital where he died. The Riverside County Sheriff’s Central Homicide Unit responded and assumed the investigation. The deceased male was identified as 25-year-old, Antonio Anaya of Home Gardens.
