On March 26, 2023, at 3:03 pm, deputies from the Riverside Sheriff’s Thermal Station responded to the report of a robbery in the 41000 Block of Washington Street, Bermuda Dunes. Armed with a handgun, the suspect approached the victim and demanded his property. The suspect, Salvador Abraham Olmedo, a 40-year-old resident of Desert Hot Springs, was located and arrested nearby.

Salvador Abraham Olmedo was booked at the John Benoit Detention Center in Indio for robbery and brandishing a replica firearm.

Kohler booked on murder, hit-run death after Palm Avenue scooter crash

Mason Drew Kohler, 31, was booked on felony murder, hit-and-run death, and DUI charges, according to the Riverside County jail roster, which lists a Hemet PD arrest at Palm Avenue and Commonwealth Avenue. Hemet police say two pedestrians on an electric scooter were struck there about 6:55 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 22; one was pronounced dead. Police have not named the driver, and the decedent's identity remains withheld.
