Assault with a Deadly Weapon and Criminal Threats Arrest

On Tuesday, May 18, 2020, Patrol Deputies responded to a brandishing of a firearm call. The investigation determined Elvis Rodriguez, 27 of Coachella assaulted a victim and made criminal threats on two separate occasions. The Coachella Community Action Team, with the assistance of the La Quinta Special Enforcement Team, served a search warrant at Rodriguez’ residence, located in the 50600 block of Avenida Adobe. Rodriguez was taken into custody without incident and a stolen, 9mm handgun was recovered. Rodriguez was booked into jail for assault with a deadly weapon, criminal threats and brandishing a firearm.
