On July 26, 2023, at 9:36 p.m., the Thermal Sheriff’s Station patrol units responded to the 51800 block of Calle Techa, in the city of Coachella, regarding a shooting incident. Upon arrival, deputies located a 32-year-old Coachella resident suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. The victim was airlifted to a local hospital and is recovering. The investigation was assumed by the Thermal Station Special Investigations Unit.

During the investigation, the suspects were positively identified as Jeraldo Mederos, a 19-year-old resident of Indio, and two 15-year-old juveniles of Coachella. On August 02, 2023, the Special Investigations Unit located and arrested one of the 15-year-old juveniles in the 47600 block of Oasis Street in the city of Indio. On August 15, 2023, the Special Investigations Unit located and arrested the other 15-year-old juvenile in the 52700 block of Frederick Street in the city of Coachella. On August 16, 2023, the Special Investigations Unit located and arrested Jeraldo Mederos, in the 47900 block of Arabia Street, in the city of Indio.

Jeraldo Mederos

Jeraldo Mederos was booked at the John Benoit Detention Center in the city of Indio for Attempt Murder, Mayhem, felony child endangerment, and probation violation. The 15-year-old juveniles were booked at the Juvenile Hall in the city of Indio for Attempt Murder and Mayhem.
