Attempted Carjacking with a Firearm

On Tuesday, April 25, 2023, at 3:50 a.m., deputies from the Moreno Valley Sheriff’s Station responded to a carjacking involving a firearm in the 12600 block of Frederick Street in the City of Moreno Valley. Upon arrival, deputies located a 23-year-old victim in his vehicle. The victim stated while sleeping in his vehicle, two Hispanic male adults, one armed with a black handgun, broke the driver’s side window. The first suspect pointed the firearm at the victim, threatened him with bodily harm if he drove away, the suspect entered the vehicle, and physically assaulted the victim. The victim was able to free himself and ran from the vehicle. Both suspects ran from the area. The victim sustained minor injuries during the incident. The investigation is ongoing, and no additional information is available at this time.
