On November 24, 2022, deputies from the Lake Elsinore Sheriff’s Station responded to the 32600 block of Mission Trail in Lake Elsinore reference an assault with a deadly weapon. Upon arrival, deputies discovered several individuals suffering from non-life-threatening gunshot wounds. Deputies from the Lake Elsinore Sheriff’s Station Special Enforcement Team assumed the investigation.

During the course of the investigation, the suspect in the case was identified as Miguel Lopez Flores (age 18), a resident of Quail Valley. On January 20, 2023, the Lake Elsinore Station SET arrested Flores without incident.

Flores was booked into Cois Byrd Detention Center and charged with attempted murder.
