On Sunday, June 12, 2022, at about 2:02 a.m., a San Jacinto Deputy observed a white Mercedes Benz sedan where the driver was suspected of driving under the influence. The deputy attempted to perform a traffic enforcement stop on the vehicle near the 400 block of Victoria Avenue, but the driver fled and attempted to evade the deputy.

On June 8, 2022, patrol deputies assigned to Southwest Sheriff’s Station responded to a past commercial burglary and vehicle theft call for service at the 43500 block of Ridge Park Drive in the city of Temecula.

A New England Journal of Medicine article reviews the evidence on the large and growing toll of air pollution and fossil fuel-driven climate change on children. Frederica Perera of Columbia University Mailman School of Public Health and Kari Nadeau of the Stanford University School of Medicine write that protecting children’s health requires that health professionals understand the multiple harms to children from climate change and air pollution and use available strategies to reduce these harms.

According to the USDA, 38 million Americans don’t have enough food to eat. Nearly a third of those are children. Black families are three times as likely as whites to experience what experts call “food insecurity” — not knowing where your next meal will come from. One in six Hispanic households are short on food, compared to one in 10 nationally. 

On Tuesday, June 14, 2022, the La Quinta Special Enforcement Team (SET) served a property related search warrant at the 64000 block of Harvest Moon Road, in Desert Hot Springs. The search warrant stemmed from a grand theft incident that was reported on June 5, 2022.
