On August 14, 2022, deputies from the San Jacinto Station responded to an assault with a deadly weapon call at First Street and Sheriff Avenue in San Jacinto. Upon deputies' arrival, they learned a male may have been shot and fled on foot into an empty field near the dead end of Sheriff Avenue.
On Monday, August 15, 2022, at 8:05 AM, deputies from the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department, Palm Desert Station, responded to a report of a major injury traffic collision involving a motorcycle in the area of Washington St. and Tucson Circle, Palm Desert.
On August 14, 2022, at 12:52 a.m., deputies from the Perris Sheriff Station responded to the area of Saddleback Wy. and Pillar Ct., Perris, regarding a report of shots fired in the area. Deputies arrived within minutes and located an adult male with multiple gunshot wounds.
A man drove his car into a barricade near the U.S. Capitol early Sunday and then began firing gunshots in the air before fatally shooting himself, according to police, who said he did not seem to be targeting any member of Congress.
The suspect has been identified as Margarita Rosales, a 32-year-old resident of Santa Ana. She was booked at the Cois Byrd Detention Center on charges of manslaughter, hit and run, and driving under the influence (DUI) causing injury.
