Possession of a Controlled Substance while Armed
On Thursday, November 18, 2021, at 5:21 P.M., Task Force Officers from Region 7 Riverside / Jurupa Valley and Region 6 Perris/Lake Elsinore served a search warrant at a residence in the 5600 block of Tilton Avenue in the city of Jurupa Valley. The search warrant stemmed from a traffic stop where Pedro Anaya, a 46-year-old resident of Jurupa Valley and convicted felon, was found in possession of a loaded 9mm firearm.
1 dead, 6 hospitalized in Southern California highway crash
One person was killed and six others, including two children. were hospitalized after a crash Thursday morning on a Southern California highway, authorities said.
Brandishing Firearm and Narcotics Arrests
On Tuesday, November 12, 2021, the La Quinta Special Enforcement Team (SET) conducted follow-up investigation regarding a brandishing of a firearm incident that occurred on November 11, 2021, at the 79000 block of Highway 111, in La Quinta.
Homicide
During the course of this investigation, Christopher Baker, 36 years of Woodcrest, was identified as a suspect. Baker had been arrested for a felony warrany unrelated to this case on November 10, 2021, and booked at the Cois Byrd Detention Center. November 11, 2021, Baker was also arrested for murder.
Burglary Investigation Arrest
On November 12, 2021, at 7:00 A.M., members of the Coachella Community Action Team (CCAT), with the assistance of the Southern Coachella Valley Community Service District Team (SCVCSDT), served a search warrant at two residences and one business, located in the 52-300 block of Avenida Obregon, La Quinta, the 40-300 block of Washington Street, Bermuda Dunes, and the 83-300 block of Highway 111, Indio.
