Report: Deadly crash began when tractor-trailer hit vehicles

MONTGOMERY, Ala. (AP) — A crash that killed 10 people — including nine children — on a rain-slicked Alabama interstate happened after a tractor-trailer truck slammed into vehicles that had slowed down because of minor crashes, according to a preliminary report released Tuesday.

On Wednesday, July 28, 2021, at 7:30 PM, Gang Task Force Officers from Region 2 assisted the Beaumont Police Department with conducting surveillance on a stolen vehicle that was parked in the parking lot of a business in the 1500 block of 2nd Street, in the City of Beaumont. Moments later, a male suspect who was later identified as Corey Parisi, a 35-year-old from the City San Jacinto, quickly got into the vehicle and sped off at a high rate of speed. A vehicle pursuit ensued, and Gang Task Force Officers took over the vehicle pursuit. With the assistance of the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department Aviation Unit, Emergency Service Team Members, K-9 Unit, and the California Highway Patrol, the pursuit went from the City of Beaumont and into the City of Riverside.

On Friday, July 30, 2021, at 1614 hours, Gang Task Force Officers from Region 2 conducted a bicycle stop in the area of Orange Street and 8th Street in the City of Beaumont, for a violation of the California Vehicle Code.

18-year-old woman fatally shot, man wounded at California theater

An 18-year-old woman was fatally shot and a man was seriously injured in a shooting at a California theater Monday night, authorities said.

Homicide – July 27, 2021

On July 27, 2021, at 8:43 p.m., deputies assigned to the Thermal Sheriff’s Station were dispatched to a report of an assault with a deadly weapon in the area of Fifth St. and Vine Ave., Coachella. Upon arrival, deputies located a male victim with major traumatic injuries.
