Smuggling Drugs into a Jail Arrest
In October of 2023, the Riverside County Sheriff’s Office, Corrections Investigation Bureau, began an investigation into inmates coordinating with persons outside of the jail facilities to smuggle narcotics into the jail. Through the course of this investigation, several suspects were identified who were smuggling in fentanyl, heroin, and methamphetamine.
Mentally Disturbed Subject
On December 17, 2023, around 1:46 p.m., deputies assigned to the Palm Desert Sheriff’s Station responded to the 72000 block of Highway 111, Palm Desert, regarding a subject who appeared to be experiencing a mental health crisis on the roof of a business.
Fatal Traffic Collision
On Sunday, December 17, 2023, at 3:52 a.m., deputies from the Riverside County Sheriff’s Moreno Valley Station, responded to the intersection of Perris Boulevard and Gentian Avenue reference a single vehicle traffic collision.
In-Custody Death
On Friday, December 15, 2023, at 7:30 p.m., investigators from The Riverside County Sheriff’s Corrections Central Investigations, were notified of an in-custody death. It was learned Shaundale Booker, a 21-year-old male from Moreno Valley, was admitted to a local hospital for a recently diagnosed illness.
Illegal Indoor Marijuana Grow, Narcotics and Firearms located in Search Warrant
On Friday, December 15th, 2023, the San Jacinto Sheriff’s Station Special Enforcement Team served a narcotics-related search warrant in the 1200 block of Washington Avenue in the city of San Jacinto.
