Cemetery Theft and Vandalism Suspect Arrested

At the end of December 2023, local media outlets aired a news story involving theft of gravestone flowers from a cemetery located in the 18100 block of Collier Avenue in Lake Elsinore. The Lake Elsinore Station Special Enforcement Team (SET), assumed the investigation. During the course of the investigation deputies were able to identify Angela Riedel, a 45-year-old resident of Lake Elsinore, as the suspect.

On January 4, 2024, Reidel was spotted in the area of Central Avenue and Collier Avenue, in the city of Lake Elsinore. SET deputies responded to the area and Riedel was taken into custody. Riedel was transported and booked into the Cois Byrd Detention Center for vandalism and theft within the confines of a cemetery. This is an ongoing investigation.
