Organized Retail Theft Suspect Arrested
On October 7, 2023, at 2:21 p.m., deputies from the Palm Desert Sheriff’s Station responded to a report of a grand theft at a retail store in the 73000 block of El Paseo, Palm Desert. Two suspects entered the store, stole several high-value items of merchandise, and ran out of the store within seconds.
Armed Robbery
On Monday, October 23, 2023, at 07:15 a.m., deputies from the Jurupa Valley Sheriff’s Station responded to a business in the 10000 block of Bellegrave Avenue, in the city of Jurupa Valley, regarding an armed robbery. The victim advised three unknown males brandished a handgun and took cash and tobacco products.
Fatal Hit And Run Traffic Collision
On October 21, 2023, about 6:44 p.m., deputies from the Riverside Sheriff’s Perris Station, responded to the intersection of Evans Road and Whispering Wood Lane, Perris, regarding a report of a major injury traffic collision.
Homicide (Update)
During the course of this investigation, the suspect was identified as David Douglas, 44 years of Lake Elsinore. At about 2:40 p.m., members of the Major Crimes Unit and uniformed patrol deputies located and detained Douglas at a business on Florida Avenue and Buena Vista Street, Hemet.
Deputy Involved Shooting (Update)
On Thursday, October 19, 2023, investigators identified the driver of the vehicle as Jose Eduardo RosalesPerez, a 34-year-old resident of Desert Hot Springs, a suspect in the deputy-involved shooting. Due to RosalesPerez’ actions and involvement during the incident he was booked into the John Benoit Detention Center on three counts of attempted murder of a peace officer.
