City of Perris Commercial Vehicle and Speed Safety Enforcement
On October 12, 2023, The Riverside County Sheriff’s Office, Perris Station, conducted a traffic operation in the City of Perris. The Perris Traffic Team performed the operation along Ramona Expressway, Perris, which ran from 9:00 a.m. 11:00 a.m. The goal of this operation was to educate motorists and to help prevent traffic collisions.
Thousands of Dollars’ Worth in Stolen Property Recovered
On August 28, 2023, deputies from the Moreno Valley Sheriff’s Station responded to a report of a theft that occurred from a business in the 14500 block of Innovation Drive in Riverside. The victim reported several thousand dollars in tools and equipment were stolen along with vehicles belonging to the business.
Scam Warning Involving Cryptocurrency
The Southwest Sheriff Station is seeing an increase in phone scams that are targeting residents of Riverside County. The most recent incidents have scammed the victims of tens of thousands of dollars. Many of the scams involve the suspect convincing a victim to convert currency into cryptocurrency and send the cryptocurrency elsewhere, which tends to lead out of the country.
Attempted Armed Robbery at a Business
On October 10, 2023, at 9:35 P.M., deputies from the Riverside Sheriff’s Moreno Valley Station responded to the report of a robbery in-progress near the 12000 block of Perris Boulevard, Moreno Valley.
Fatal Traffic Collision Involving a Sheriff’s Vehicle
On October 10, 2023, at 3:40 AM, an on-duty Riverside County Sheriff’s Deputy was involved in a collision with a bicyclist in the area of County Club Drive and Eldorado Drive in Palm Desert.
