Death Investigation

On February 22, 2022, at 11:15 p.m., deputies from the Thermal Sheriff’s Station responded to a report of an assault with a deadly weapon in the 55400 block of Riviera Ln., in La Quinta. Upon arriving, deputies located a male victim suffering from a traumatic injury. The male was airlifted to a nearby hospital where he was pronounced deceased by medical personnel. The scene was secured and the Central Homicide Unit responded to assume the investigation. The victim was identified as Branston William Bauder, a 48-year-old male from La Quinta. There are no outstanding suspects and the investigation is on-going.
