Felon in Possession of a Loaded Firearm

On Friday, February 26, 2021, at 8:20 P.M., members of the Moreno Valley Station’s Special Enforcement Team – Gang Unit conducted an area check in the 26000 block of Deerfern Avenue, in the city of Moreno Valley. Deputies contacted, Owen Marzette, a 39-year-old resident of Moreno Valley and documented criminal street gang member.

A subsequent search of Marzette’s backpack revealed a loaded semi-automatic stolen handgun. A record check also revealed Marzette is a convicted felon, prohibited from possessing a firearm.

Marzette was taken into custody and charged with being a Felon in Possession of the Loaded Stolen Firearm and Felon in Possession of Ammunition. Marzette was subsequently booked at the Robert Presley Detention Center. Anyone with additional information is encouraged to contact Deputy Kevin Mahoney at (951) 486-6700.
