Gang Member Arrested with Loaded Firearm and Narcotics

On Friday, November 5, 2021, at 11:30 A.M. the Coachella Valley Violent Crime Gang Task Force with the assistance of Rancho Mirage and Indian Wells Special Enforcement Teams served a search warrant at a residence located in the 30000 block of Pauline Avenue in Cathedral City. During the service of the search warrant Gang Task Force Officers located a loaded 9mm semi-auto handgun, several rounds of ammunition and suspected heroin. Convicted felon and documented criminal street gang member, Timothy Osvaldo Ortiz, 33 of Cathedral City was arrested for Felon in Possession of a Firearm, Felon in Possession of Ammunition, and Possession of a Firearm with Narcotics. Ortiz had an active Felony Arrest Warrant for Vehicle Theft and was also charged with Evading the Process of the Court in connection with the arrest warrant. Also arrested during the service of the search warrant was Ismael Aguila Santos, 47 of Cathedral City for an active Felony Arrest Warrant for Felony DUI. Both Ortiz and Santos were booked at John Benoit Detention Center in Indio.
