On Wednesday, October 5, 2022, at 11:30 AM, the Coachella Valley Violent Crime Gang Task Force (CVVCGTF) served a search warrant at a residence located in the 40000 block of Washington Street in Bermuda Dunes. During the service of the search warrant, Gang Task Force officers located a loaded AK-47 style .22 caliber rifle and Alprazolam pills (Xanax). The suspect, convicted felon and documented criminal street gang member, Eddie Amezquita, a 19-year-old resident of Bermuda Dunes, was arrested for Felon in Possession of a Firearm, Felon in Possession of Ammunition, Possession of Narcotics with a Firearm, and Violation of Probation. Amezquita was subsequently booked at John Benoit Detention Center in Indio.
