On August 6, 2022, at about 9:55 a.m., deputies from the Perris Sheriff Station responded to a report of a shooting near a residence in the 28800 block of Mapes Rd. Deputies arrived within minutes and received information the suspect still at the location. The Special Enforcement Bureau (SEB) responded and took the suspect into custody. Deputies located a deceased male victim with gunshot wounds. The crime scene was secured and the Central Homicide Unit was requested to assume the investigation.

The victim was identified as Jesus Carlon, a 58-year-old resident of Wildomar, and the suspect was identified as Arturo Recinos, a 52 year-old resident of Romoland. Recinos was arrested for murder and booked at the Robert Presley Detention Center. This investigation is currently on-going and no further information will be released at this time.
