On Saturday, August 21, 2021, approximately 1:05 am, deputies assigned to the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department-Robert Presley Detention Center, conducted a routine security check of a housing unit. During the security check, jail staff discovered an unresponsive male inmate. Custody staff along with medical staff immediately responded to the cell and began administering life-saving measures. Cal Fire and American Medical Response (AMR) responded and subsequently after further life-saving measures, the inmate was pronounced deceased on scene.
The Jurupa Valley Station’s Special Enforcement Team (SET) assigned to the city of Eastvale conducted a follow-up investigation that stemmed from a burglary; the burglary occurred on July 25, 2021, on the 7400 block of Scholar Way (Eleanor Roosevelt High School) city of Eastvale.
On July 14, 2021, at 3:15 PM, Moreno Valley Sheriff’s Station Special Enforcement Team/Gang Unit were conducting proactive patrol in the area of Dorner Drive and Ramsdell Drive, Moreno Valley and conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle. During this traffic stop the passenger, Jonathan Pitchford (36yrs), was found to be in possession of a loaded unregistered firearm.
On Wednesday, July 14th, 2021, at 8:09 P.M., members of the Riverside County Regional Gang Task Force Region 6 Perris / Lake Elsinore conducted a vehicle check in the 300 block of F Street, in the city of Perris. Deputies contacted Christian Serrano, a 42-year-old resident of Perris. Serrano advised he was on probation for violating a restraining order. A subsequent search of Serrano’s vehicle revealed a firearm magazine containing (6) live 9mm cartridges, (10) live 16-gauge shotgun shells, numerous shaved keys, and (2) Balisong knives.
On Wednesday, July 7, 2021, about 11:50 a.m., deputies from the Perris Station responded to an armed robbery at the 260 Block of Spectacular Bid Street in the city of Perris. Deputies and Investigators assigned to the Perris Station Robbery / Burglary Suppression Team immediately assumed the investigation.
