Sexual Battery

On February 21, 2021, at 4:22 PM, deputies from the Thermal Sheriff’s Station responded to the 78-600 block of Highway 111, in the city of La Quinta, regarding a sexual battery. The victim reported they had been sexually assaulted during a massage session. The information was forwarded to the Thermal Station Investigations Bureau for further investigation.

Sex offender pleads no contest to killing 2 California boys

A convicted child rapist pleaded no contest Monday to sexually assaulting and killing two young boys in the 1980s in Southern California. Kenneth Rasmuson, 59, entered pleas to two counts of murder with the special circumstance that he committed multiple killings. He is expected to be sentenced to life in prison without possibility of parole on April 27.

Missing Persons / Homicide

This case is now being investigated as a homicide. Investigators arrested David Williams Jr., 27 years old out of North Palm Springs. The victim’s remains have not been recovered as of yet and this investigation is continuing. Homicide

Investigators from the Riverside County Sheriff's Department Central Homicide Unit have continued investigating a homicide that occurred on January 26, 2020, in the unincorporated area of Home Gardens. The ongoing investigation revealed a second suspect involved in the murder of 25-year-old Antonio Anaya.

Felon in Possession of a Firearm

On Saturday, February 20, 2021, at 6:03 P.M., members of the Riverside County Regional Gang Task Force Region 6 conducted a traffic stop on the I-215 south onramp and Redlands Avenue, in the city of Perris. Deputies contacted Cass Dixie, a 41-year-old resident of Hemet. Deputies discovered Dixie was operating his vehicle without a driver’s license. Deputies requested Dixie exit his vehicle and Dixie complied. A subsequent search of Dixie’s person revealed a loaded .38-caliber special revolver in his waistband. A search of Dixie’s vehicle revealed additional .38-caliber special ammunition and a small bindle of cocaine.
