Soboba Fire Station No. 1 opened its doors and shared information with Soboba Tribal Preschool kindergartners and Pre-K students on Oct. 11 as part of Fire Prevention Month. The goal of the national event is to raise awareness about fire safety and help ensure kids know what to do in the event of an emergency.
Mason Drew Kohler, 31, was booked on felony murder, hit-and-run death, and DUI charges, according to the Riverside County jail roster, which lists a Hemet PD arrest at Palm Avenue and Commonwealth Avenue. Hemet police say two pedestrians on an electric scooter were struck there about 6:55 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 22; one was pronounced dead. Police have not named the driver, and the decedent's identity remains withheld.
The San Jacinto Planning Commission voted 3-0 Tuesday to recommend two sphere-of-influence annexations to the City Council, including Tentative Tract Map 34271 for 151 single-family lots south of Ramona Expressway. Neither file is a completed annexation.
