On July 23, 2023, at 8:50 p.m., deputies assigned to the Riverside Sheriff’s Perris Station responded to the 300 block of 3rd Street, in Perris, to reports of gunshots heard in the area. When deputies arrived, they located a male suffering from gunshot wounds.

During the course of this investigation, a suspect was identified as Ruben Esquivel, 34 years of Coachella. Esquivel is currently in custody on an unrelated homicide. Today, new charges of Murder, Arson, and Use of a Gun in the Commission of a Felony were filed by the Riverside County District Attorney’s Office.

On July 3, 2023, at approximately 12:44 a.m., deputies from the Moreno Valley Sheriff’s Station responded to a residence in the 26000 block of Coronada Drive in Moreno Valley regarding shots fired during a large party.

On 06/25/23, at 4:40 p.m., deputies assigned to the Cabazon Sheriff’s Station were dispatched to a shooting that occurred on the 1500 block of Elm Street, Cabazon. Upon arriving, deputies located a deceased female victim suffering from a gunshot wound inside a vehicle.

The victim in this case was identified as Gabriel Diaz, 40-year-old resident of Norco. During the course of the investigation, several witnesses were interviewed and the scene was processed for evidence.
