Crazy laws! They’re everywhere if you know where to look. For example, a small town in Alabama has outlawed bear wrestling, while an Arizona town forbids camel hunting. Another place in Arkansas prohibits honking your horn in front of a sandwich shop and an Illinois town has banned saggy pants! Go figure!
If you’re anything like me, I always thought prayer was pretty boring - and I wasn’t the only one! I once heard of a man who tried praying early in the mornings but kept falling asleep, so he filled his bathtub with water and sat in it, hoping not to nod off and drown. He was alive to tell the story so I guess you could say he was successful.
“They begin the evening news with ‘Good evening,’ and then proceed to tell you why it isn’t.” Ha! Very witty quote and pretty true; plus, if you’re anything like me, you hear ‘Good evening’ many times over each night and love it. In a world where joy and unity may seem impossible to achieve, millions of Jehovah's Witnesses have "united" together virtually to stream their six-part annual summer convention featuring the theme "Always Rejoice"! The program which is available in 511 languages worldwide was designed to be released in six installments, each corresponding to a morning or afternoon session of what would have been three successive convention days. The final two sessions of this convention program will be streamed on jw.org on the weekends of August 22-23 and 29- 30, completing this historic event for the Witnesses around the globe.
