Wildfires burning throughout California are generating smoke and ash that is impacting portions of western Riverside County, prompting health officials to urge residents to take precautions with the unhealthy air quality levels.
Riverside County officials have begun accepting waiver applications from public and private K-6 schools wishing to resume in-person classes. Waivers are necessary because Riverside County is currently on the state’s watch list. The county must be off the watch list for 14 days before schools and school districts may reopen without a waiver.
Over several weeks deputies from the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department-Norco Station conducted an investigation into illegal narcotics activity at a local hotel located in the 3200 block of Hamner Ave., Norco. On Friday, August 28, 2020, Deputies authored and served a search warrant at the location.
Ryan White, the courageous teenager who fought discrimination after contracting AIDS, never saw the impact his short life would have on hundreds of thousands of individuals living with HIV and AIDS. Ryan, who contracted the disease from a blood transfusion in 1984, died in April 1990, only months before the establishment of the Ryan White Comprehensive AIDS Resources Emergency (CARE) Act. The Indiana teen was 18 when he died.
