CAL FIRE Peace Officers have determined that the Apple Fire was the result of a vehicle malfunction, specifically, a diesel- fueled vehicle emitting burning carbon from the exhaust system. The determination is reinforced by multiple independent witnesses, as well as supporting physical evidence.
