Assault with a Deadly Weapon – Firearm

On Sunday, August 30, 2020, at 10:33 PM, Coachella Deputies responded to the 49000 block of Avenida De Plata for a report of shots fired. Witnesses reported hearing 5 to 7 gunshots with an unknown suspect vehicle leaving at a high rate of speed. A 16-year-old juvenile victim from Coachella was transported to a local hospital for a gunshot wound to the head.

Homicide – September 24, 2019 Update

The Riverside County Sheriff’s Department, Central Homicide Unit has been working toward developing leads on a homicide that occurred on September 24, 2019, in the unincorporated area of Indio. The investigation identified the suspects as 47-year-old Ricardo Pescador and 29-year-old Gerardo Rivera, both from Indio.

Agricultural Theft

On August 26, 2020, deputies from the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department, Thermal Station, Agricultural Liaison, and Southern Coachella Valley Community Services District Team, responded to the area of 86 Expressway and Lincoln Street, Thermal, regarding subjects stealing lemons from a ranch.

Homicide – August 27, 2020

During the course of this investigation, the suspect was identified as Shaun Tara, 36 years of Jurupa Valley. On August 27, 2020, around 3:00 p.m., members from the Sheriff’s Major Crimes Unit (MCU), Jurupa Valley Sheriff Station Problem Oriented Policing (POP) Unit and Special Enforcement Team (SET) located and arrested Tara in the city of Pomona.

Possession for Sales of Heroin and Psilocybin Mushrooms

On August 24, 2020, deputies from the Lake Elsinore Sheriff Station responded to a suspicious vehicle call in the area of Agape Lane and Seattle Ridge Road, Wildomar. Deputies located Garrett Ronald Greer in a gray Honda Accord. A subsequent search of the vehicle revealed 19.7 grams of Black Tar Heroin and Psilocybin mushrooms.
