In this "Game of the week" brought to you by The Hemet & San Jacinto Chronicle, we will take you to West Valley as they welcome Desert Mirage into their house and maintain the momentum they have after their big victory in the first game of the season.
They are known as "The Herrera Boys" all around the country. Adrian (5th grade) & Andrew (4th grade) attend Fruitvale elementary school. They both love to play basketball, soccer and ride their skateboards for fun, but that's not why they are best known in town.
On Friday, August 23rd, the Historic Hemet Theatre hosted country rock band, YOUNG GUNS with a tribute to the superstars of country music. The group played music from every era of country music from Charlie Daniels' "Devil Went Down to Georgia" thtough the years of Johnny Cash, Garth Brooks, Florida Georgia Line and more.
Friday night lights are upon us and the smell of the turf is as refreshing as a cold glass of ice tea on one of these hot days. Chaparral High School made the trip down to Hemet to take on the Bulldogs in their house on August 23rd.
Soboba Elders started playing chair volleyball about a year ago and attend tournaments at other reservations on a regular basis. Weekly practices find about 15 players from two teams spending a couple of hours at the Soboba Sports Complex.
