Ethics experts see national security concern in Trump’s debt

Revelations that President Donald Trump is personally liable for more than $400 million in debt are casting a shadow over his presidency that ethics experts say raises national security concerns he could be manipulated to sway U.S. policy by organizations or individuals he’s indebted to.

Three killed in Northern California wildfire; thousands flee

A Northern California sheriff says three people have died in a fast-moving wildfire west of Redding. Shasta County Sheriff Eric Magrini announced the deaths during a Monday afternoon update on the Zogg Fire. He did not give any details about the people who died, but said more than 1,200 people are evacuated from that fire.

Deputy Involved Shooting / Criminal Protective Order Violation

On September 27, 2020, at 9:37 pm, deputies responded to a reported family disturbance near the 300 block of Shaver Street, in the city of San Jacinto. On arrival, deputies saw the suspect fleeing the area on foot and they gave chase. Deputies contacted the suspect near the intersection of Shaver Street and S. Jordan Avenue and a deputy involved shooting occurred.

Gang Member Arrested with Illegal Firearm – September 26, 2020

On Saturday, September 26, 2020, at 2:15 P.M., the Coachella Valley Violent Crime Gang Task Force (CVVCGTF) conducted a search warrant service at a residence in the 19000 block of Paintbrush Trail in the unincorporated area of Desert Hot Springs. During the search warrant Gang Task Force Officers located an illegally manufactured AR-15 Rifle with no serial numbers.

Felon in Possession of a Firearm / Search Warrant – September 26, 2020

On Saturday, September 26, 2020, at 2:21 A.M., the Moreno Valley Station’s Special Enforcement Team, served a search warrant at a residence in the 15000 block of Pepper Court, in the city of Moreno Valley. The search warrant stemmed from a traffic stop where Ricardo Cortez, a 26-year-old resident of Moreno Valley, and convicted felon was found in possession of a semi-automatic handgun with an altered serial number and narcotics.
